OUR STORY

Brothers Justin and Matthew Mattera are North Shore natives.

It all began in 2011 when they bought a small variety store called, The Hungry Whale.  They worked their tails off and turned that store into a popular sandwich shop where they perfected the classic New England lobster roll.

In 2013, with a dollar and a dream that little store expanded into the back rooms with the addition of a dining room and full bar. For 10 years the restaurant had amazing success thanks to their loyal customers and incredible employees. 

 

In September of 23' the LB'S team took advantage of an opportunity to move into this bigger space where you sit today. When you look across the courtyard you'll see the original location.  

 

This new building has so much history and everyone looks forward to this next chapter in the Longboards story. 

 

Longboards is the neighborhood joint for locals and a must-stop for visitors. It's a lively, casual space perfect to call your own.  Stop in and say hi. You're sure to see Justin, Matt, an old friend, or one you haven't met yet!

WHY LONGBOARDS?

Although the inspiration to open a laid back bar on the ocean comes from the West Coast, you won't find any surfboards or skateboards here. Instead, we take pride in our unique flatbread pizzas served on... long boards.
